Bank Plus to Present Fondren Unwrapped
This year’s festive “open house” celebration begins with the arrival of Santa and his sleigh pulled by his favorite reindeer, Rudolph. They will arrive around 5 p.m. for a quick pre-Christmas stop around Fondren before visiting with all the good little girls and boys. There will be hot chocolate and cookies for all and children of all ages will be able to have their picture made with Santa before he returns back to the North Pole later that night. It’s a perfect time to get that Christmas card shot compliments of BankPlus!
The evening continues with an old-fashioned Christmas tree lighting featuring the Jim Hill singers, held at the large cedar tree on Duling Lawn at 5:30 p.m. Special thanks to the Belhaven Theater Department for decorating the Fondren tree in such special attire! Afterwards, travel up BankPlus (Duling) Avenue where you will find a variety of holiday crafts and activities for the kids and St. Luke’s United Methodist Church will host a number of choirs for all to enjoy inside the sanctuary beginning at 5 p.m. Special features at this year’s holiday concert series will be the talents of Jim Hill, the Mustard Seed Bells of Faith and the Mississippi Boy Choir. Mixed amid the lights, everyone will want to enjoy the hanging art show featuring the works of school age children throughout the metro area.
All are encouraged to stroll the central business district of Fondren as merchants, restaurants and businesses will have extended hours with seasonal offerings, food presentations and holiday libations to get you in the gift giving spirit. This is one holiday event you do not want to miss. Join us on Thursday evening, November 20, for “Fondren’s Gift of the Season – Fondren Unwrapped”!
Located in the Fondren Historic Business District, Fondren Unwrapped is presented by BankPlus in cooperation with Fondren Renaissance Foundation and the merry merchants of Fondren. This event is free and open to the public.
